Brontë Parsonage Storyteller in Residence
Throughout 2024 I worked with the Brontë Parsonage Museum in Haworth as Storyteller in Residence, creating ‘Learning to Play’ a new piece of work exploring the significance of play and creativity for parents, carers and children and ‘This House is Full of Stories’, a collection of folk tales inspired by the servants and children who lived at the Parsonage. Influenced by the Brontë’s legacy and writing and my own experiences of motherhood as an artist, this work delved into the ways storytelling and creativity can help navigate early parenthood.
My audio storytelling installation ‘How to Build a Storyteller’ was exhibited in the Servant’s Room at the Brontë Parsonage Museum during 2024. This installation also featured beautiful design by Rachel Shore.
Performances of ‘This House is Full of Stories’ have finished for now… BUT keep an on the Brontë Parsonage Museum social feeds for films of these lively, musical stories and take a peek below at some snippets of joy from 2024!
